Pick a Number
Materials: scriptures
For a complete departure from the lesson, have a student pick a book in the Book of Mormon. Then have two other students each pick a number between 1 and 25. find the scripture that corresponds with that book, chapter and verse. (Switch the order if you need to.)
See what bit of inspiration you as a class can glean
from this verse.
If it is a wonderful gem, comment on how easily
it is to get something out of the scriptures by just opening them, then
steer the discussion back to the lesson. On occasion the scripture randomly
chosen is not one that can be easily deciphered by reading it alone.
Sometimes it helps to read a few verses before and after it too.
