What Can I Do to Be a Missionary?

What is a missionary?
Why is it important to be a missionary?
How can our familymembers be a missionary?
Make a list of things you will do in the week to come. Talk about it next week.

Here are a list of things you can do to be a missionary.

  1. Memorize a favorite scripture (maybe share it next week?)
  2. Invite nonmember friends to come to your home after school to play.
  3. Start, or add to, your missionary fund.
  4. Ask a friend if she/he would like to hear the Joseph Smith story.
  5. Give someone Book of Mormon with your testimony written inside.
  6. Say hello to two new people at school.
  7. Write letter to missionary.
  8. Offer to do service without pay for nonmember neighbor.
  9. Pray morning and night.
  10. Memorize a favorite Primary song/hymn from the Church hymnbook.
  11. Learn to fix flat tire on bike (useful when on a mission)
  12. Learn to mend your clothes
  13. Learn how to change the sheets on your bed
  14. Learn how to tie a necktie
  15. Learn how to sew on a button,
  16. Learn how to pack a suitcase
  17. Learn how to or shine your shoes.
  18. Learn how to iron a shirt/dress
  19. Learn how to press a suit
  20. Learn to do your own laundry.
  21. Attend Church meetings and listen well.
  22. Obey Word of Wisdom.
  23. Attend friend’s baptism (and maybe bring a friend)
  24. Pray for missionaries.
  25. invite a family to family home evening.
  26. Bear your testimony in sacrament meeting.
  27. Share Friend magazine with someone.
  28. Give referrals of nonmembers to missionaries.
  29. Set good example by being honest.
  30. Listen to general conference.
  31. Memorize Pres. Hinckley 6 Be’s (look under Sharing Time ideas (Hinckley's 6 BE's), there you will find something it)
  32. Get up so early in the morning that you can read the scriptures
  33. Invite a friend to your Sunday meetings
  34. Write a letter to your parents (missionaries do that every week...)
  35. Prepare a meal for your family
  36. Visit someone who is ill
  37. Write in your journal
  38. Help clean the house (mon is not on the mission with you...)
