have the child share a favorite scripture
and share one of yours

knowledge of Articles of Faith and why they
are important

how the child knows & what the child feels
when the Holy Ghost is present
-
ask the child to share an example of listening
to the Holy Ghost
-
what being a disciple of Jesus Christ means
to the child
-
what goals the child has for the future (i.e.
seminary, mission, temple marriage)
-
What do you think you have learned in Primary?
-
Are you ready for YM/YW?
-
What will you miss about primary?
-
Talk about setting goals to learn and live
according to the gospel
What should I do during the interview/meeting:
-
ask questions which require more than a yes
or no answer
-
listen attentively
-
recognize the child's efforts in making right
choices
-
encourage the child to continue to live the
gospel principles throughout his/her life
-
bear your testimony
-
invite the child to bear his/her testimony
(D&C 62:3)
-
let the spirit be your guide
-
keep it short
-
express your love for the child
-
let the experience be a positive one for the
child and for you!
Don't:
-
do it only because it is required
-
go with a list of questions in your hand
-
just talk in the hall at church
