| When Christ visit's the Earth He visits the Temple (by Emily Samples, Las Vegas) |
The children will walk into the Primary room to find me sitting up front in grubby clothes.
I'll ask them if they notice anything different about me and then ask them if they think I would feel comfortable if the Savior were to walk into our Primary room right then. Then I'll have our music people sing "Saturday" and "I Feel My Savior's Love" while I go into the bathroom and change back into my church clothes.
I'll then come back in and tell them that I feel more comfortable now.
Then I'll read them the story by President Packer in this month's Friend and talk about how we need to be clean on the outside, but most importantly on the inside. I'll then ask if they think we have to wear fancy clothes when we go to the Temple and show an evening gown and then explain that once we get to the Temple we change into white clothes and why and show my Temple dress.
I'll then have pictures depicting the Kirtland Temple and Lorenzo Snow stories and have reverent children come up front to hold the pictures while I tell the stories of Christ appearing in the Temple. I'll then explain that we don't physically see Christ in the Temple everyday, but that if we go and are clean and pure we will feel His presence.
Then they will sing "I Love To See The Temple".
For Sr. ST:
I'll do the same with the clothing, but instead of just telling the Kirtland Temple story, I'll have them refer to their scriptures and read the account from there and then I'll tell the story about Lorenzo Snow.
