House of order
 (by Mari)

Blueprints-What are they used for etc.

Build the house from 4 separate boxes (all the same size, I'll cover with white poster paper and have them just set up in front in random order having them "build the house"
Then we'll add the windows, door roof, chimney (cut-outs)
Bro. Perrys talk on "Family Traditions form Feb Friend '02
Then add on about spiritual traditions we have in our homes put word-strips or write on the cut-outs....prayer, scripture study, family home evening, faith, learning, order.
I'd like to either have a song intermixed with this or a quick story or something on some just to explain them a little clearer.

Chalkboard activity - respect/disrespect from Primary 7 manual (there's a great activity including the children that talks about what’s "respectful" and what's not in other peoples homes or when they come to your home. Thought I could do that and relate it to the temple. like the white shoes and using quiet voices, etc....

Ask what our homes would be like without prayer/roof in our homes etc.

Activity- SR. only- give one pencil and one paper to every two children and ask them to draw a house the best they can. Only one can hold the paper and one to touch/hold the paper. This is to teach how we have to cooperate in our homes to have all the things we need to make our homes a haven along with the spiritual traditions. Parents can't do it alone...all cooperate together...
Activity- JR. I am going to have each child draw a large temple on a sheet of paper and then when their done ask them to turn it over and draw a small picture of their family and when they hold it up to the light they will see a picture of their family in the temple.

Conclusion:
Turn the boxes around and show the temple outline on the back. Explain that while we make our homes a safe and loving place like the temple we will have a taste of what it feels like inside the temple. Something to that effect. not sure how I will tie it all together just yet.
