Nourishing yourself body & soul

We had three classes:

  1. Stress reduction through relaxation- a lady came and taught us how do relaxation and yoga type exercises, a little aroma therapy also. (things to soothe and calm the soul)
  2. Cooking class- a lady taught about healthy cooking, she emphasized good food, enjoying food preparation instead of seeing it a chore, using it to focus your mind, and lastly to ENJOY mealtimes with your family.
  3. 14 day walk with Christ - they talked about the importance of being in tune with yourself and with the spirit. They did a paraffin dip on each sister and while they were enjoying that, they talked about spiritual food telling about the 14 day walk and a the difference it could make in your life. They encouraged the sisters to take time for themselves to rejuvenate their souls and their spirits. ( all of sisters were given a copy of the walk)


Everyone loved this night. We were surprised at how well it went over. People still talk about it. I think Jan. was a good time because of the rush from the holidays and it's also a time of year that we reflect on our priorities of the past and future.
I was amazed at the number of sisters that NEVER do anything for themselves. They just muddle through their routine of busy, busy, busy without even trying to enjoy it. It was great for them to see how them feeling better can help their families as well.
