Jesus going to the temple

JR Primary:

Opened by talking (and showing ”GAK”* pictures) about Jesus going to the temple while he was here on the earth (as a boy teaching in the temple) and after he was resurrected (to the Nephites at their temple in Bountiful).

Talked about how we can be prepared for when Jesus comes again. Gave the parable of the 10 virgins. Then we talked about ways we can be prepared (go to church, pray, etc.)

Then we played a game. I divided them into 2 teams. I used a game board with spaces on it that would advance them to the second coming. I had a bag full of "hypothetical" actions that would advance them spaces if they were good and make them go back if they were not good. (EX- "You were reverent during Sacrament meeting, advance 2 spaces" OR "You went to a birthday party instead of church, move back 2 spaces") You get the idea. (HUGE HIT!!)

Closed using the Gospel Standards card as examples of how they can prepare themselves for the second coming and added my testimony.

I made each set of word strips out of a different color, so they could be easily separated. (I had a lot of A-has! Even from the teachers.)

Talked about Adam-Ondi-Ahman using info from the links below (even the teachers were interested in this info!) Highlighted the bullets from the first link, gave measurements and insight on the alters in the second link and showed picture from the third link.
