Through songs:
 Songs:
How to Teach a song:

how can I teach the message?
what words need to be explained?
Integrate songs into sharing time
Testify of the message
Encourage children to sing at home

CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH REPETITION

Give music clues to gospel topics for lessons and sharing time.

Here are some of the activities they did with us:

Tie song themes together.

 Sing:

"The Books in the New Testament" (CS 116)

"The Books in the Book of Mormon" (CS 119)
"Search, Ponder and Pray" (CS 109)

Then talk about and bear testimony of scriptures

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fishing:
Use a "fishing pole" with a magnet and fish with paper clips on them.
A
song on each "fish". Have a picture that represents each song.
After
they catch a fish, have them choose a picture that goes with the song.
For example:
         "Fathers" (CS 209)
The person chose a picture of a dad baptizing his daughter. How does it relate to the song?
Then sing the song.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sing a Story:

Picture: a family standing in front of a temple.

Ask: What is the picture of?
Family

 What kind?

 Happy, eternal, etc.

 What songs can you think of that would go with this picture?
Happy Family (CS 198)

I Love to See the Temple (CS 95)
 Families can be together forever (CS 188)

Tell the story of the family ~ they are happy because they have the blessings of the temple and they can be together forever (tell a true story if you know one). Then, sing the songs in order that they fit in the story.

Happy family: Have girls stand and sing when they sing about the mother (sister), have boys stand and sing when they sing about the father (brother).

I love to see the temple: Each time you say "LOVE" put your hand on your heart.

Families can be together forever: Each time you say families, hold up as many fingers as you have people in your family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Key Words:
"Home can be a Heaven on Earth". They left key words on some chairs and then had the people who sat in those chairs bring up the key words.
Then, as we sang the song, the key words had to put themselves in order. After they were in order, they go to put a picture together. The key word was printed on a the back of a "puzzle piece" to a picture. It was a round picture of a home with sky above and grass beneath. It was really big. I'm not sure where to go to get things like that done, but I thought it was really neat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Combine:

We sang 3 songs at the same time

Does anyone remember the songs they used. I know they used "The Word of Wisdom", a song with the steps of prayer, and I think "I Pray in Faith", but I don't remember for sure.
