(CSMP 2005 April suggestion # 1) |
Display a picture of a home.
Divide the children into groups and
give each group a piece of paper and a picture of
a family member, such as a parent, grandparent, child,
or baby.
Have each group list some of the ways the
family member they were given contributes to the family.
Then have the groups take turns acting out some
of the ways their family member contributes, while
the rest of the children guess which family member it
is.
Sing a song about that family member, such as:
“Mother Dear” (CS, 206).
Display the pictures and lists by the home.
Sing Primary songs about home.
For older children, read
sentences 4 and 5 of paragraph 7 of the
“Proclamation.”
Divide the children into groups and
give each group a principle from sentence 5.
Have them find and sing a song from the CS that teaches the principle and then share how they can livethat principle in their families.
