(CSMP 2005 July suggestion # 2) |
Use scriptures and pictures to tell the story of the Last Supper
Teach the meaning of the sacrament bread
and water.
Explain that the bread represents the Savior’s body and the water
represents His blood.
Because He sacrificed His body and shed His blood, the Savior made it
possible for us to be resurrected and be cleansed of our sins so we can
have eternal life with Him.
Explain that when we partake of the sacrament, we are remembering
the Savior’s sacrifice.
Read the sacrament prayers. Discuss the promises we make when we are
baptized, and explain that we renew these promises when we partake of the
sacrament
Sing a song from the “Sacrament” section of the “Topics” index in the CS or Hymns.
Pass out paper hearts on which the children can write or draw one thing they will do this week to remember Jesus Christ. Have them keep the paper hearts where they can be a daily reminder.
