Musical Pursuit!
(by Wendy Heap )

Here are the rules and questions for my trivial pursuit game, which I named "Musical Pursuit."
  1. For the game board I looked at my trivial pursuit game and just copied it - I cut pieces out of six different colors of cardstock and placed them in a circle on a posterboard with the spokes going in to the center.
  2. In the center I just had musical notes.
  3. I wrote each question on a separate index card and numbered it.
  4. I made a holder (piece of cardstock folded over and stapled on the sides) in each of the category colors to put the index cards in, ie. the Article of Faith questions went in the blue folder, the Wild questions went in the pink folder.  I made a list for our pianist that had each # question and the song and page number, so if the question was green #5 she knew the song was The Church of Jesus Christ and was ready to play it.
  5. I just had circles as tokens, and cut the little triangles for the "pie" pieces they could earn.

RULES:
I divided the kids into two teams.  I would choose a child to roll the dice.  He got to decide which color to land on.  Then I asked the question - his whole team could help with the answer.  If the question card had a note on it they had to sing that song.  (I put notes on all the program songs no matter what category they were in so that we would have to practice them.)  In order to get the piece of pie they did not always have to have the correct answer, but they did have to sing the song to my satisfaction.  If  the question card didn't have a note on it, they could decide whether or not they wanted to sing the song and try for the "pie."  My rule was that everyone had to sing, not just the side that was trying for the piece.  If the other side didn't sing, they skipped their next turn.  I alternated sides, no side got two questions in a row unless the other side didn't sing.  My senior primary teams actually both got all the "pieces of pie" but we ran out of time before they could get back to the center.  That was the objective - to get back to the center.  If they had, the other team would get to choose the category and then they would have had to sing the song to win.

QUESTIONS:
I do not have the questions in numerical order in the card holder - this is so I can put whatever cards I want near the front so I can control to some extent what songs will be sung!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I obviously made many more questions than I needed - this way I can use the game several times without having to come up with new questions every time.  I realize that many of the questions will not be relevant in your primary, but I just put them all in and you can use what you want and throw out the rest.
