I'll walk with you
(by Wendy Pray) |
Have the children pantomime.
One walks in place
Two turn away & walk in place
BUT I WON'T; I WON'T (point to self w/thumb, then cross
hands, palms down & uncross quickly, like a Ref call in football, while
shaking head emphatically)
One child (or a puppet) moves mouth like talking
Two move mouths & then giggle
BUT I WON'T; I WON'T
a picture of Jesus healing the sick
a picture of Jesus loving little children
AND I WILL; I WILL
I WILL; I WILL (point to self w/thumb, then nod
emphatically)
(you can either count to 4 w/fingers or have 4 children
doing this in front to help them remember to say it 4 times)
Two children walk together in place
Two children move mouths like talking to each other
Two children w/arms around each other

Have your pianist
play the song softly while you are preparing, choosing helpers, giving
instructions, and telling/singing the words to the songs. That will give them
just a little head-start on the melodies. If the melody's really tricky (ie: the
13th Article of Faith), then you might want to have them hum the song first.
