Dearest Children, God is near
you by Judy |
We made a big envelope (2X3) and addressed it Dearest children with our ward address. Inside was a letter from the pres saying she hoped the children would learn this song and that it taught some important truths that would help them throughout their lives.
The next paper was the words to the song.
The chorister sang 2 lines and had the children listen for answers to questions. What is God doing for us? He is near us looking out for us watching over us.
We talked about when you love someone you do those things. you want them to be safe. Listen for the word they use to tell us that god is happy to bless us.
Sing next 2 lines What do we need to do. If we strive to do whats right.
Sing last 2 lines. If we are trying and we trust Him he will always be there to bless us.
Sang the whole song through.
Then we said we had a special word and we showed it to everyone "you" We sang the song again and everytime we sang the special word we stood up briefly. The song uses the word you a lot so it kept them really keyed in.
Afterwards she bore her testimony how this song is about you and Heavenly Father "you are really important to Heavenly Father and Jesus, they love you and will always be there for you helping you ..even if you make mistakes they will show you how to do better. it went over really well.
