Have some children dramatize the story of Nephi and his family building a ship and sailing to the promised land (1 Nephi 17–18).

Tell the account as the children pantomime the story (see “Dramatizations,” TNGC, 165–66).

Read 1 Nephi 3:7 and sing “Nephi’s Courage” (CS, 120–21).

Tell of a time when the Lord provided a way for you to keep His commandments (see “Likening,” TNGC, 170–71).

Share other examples of faith and obedience from the scriptures, such as 1 Samuel 17; Daniel 3; or 1 Nephi 3– 4.
