Prepare ahead of time:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Begin the activity by telling the children about how our church is organized. How we are different than other churches. We believe that we have a prophet that guide us today.
If you cut a picture Prs. Hinckley into 12 pieces, here is 12 “tasks” for the children must complete - in order to sample the picture: (or make your own)
  1. Say the 6. Article of Faith
  2. SING: "Stand for the Right" (CS, 159)
  3. We must have faith to believe the Prs. Hinckley is the prophet to day. In many things we must show that we have faith. Game about Faith: hide the following items under a blanket, remove the blanket and let the children look at them for 10-15 sec. Hide the items again. Ask the children what was hidden under the blanket. When all items “found”, talk about each item is important for us to day. (Scriptures = faith; Wood= Jesus; Seeds = faith shall grow like a seed; Picture of child in prayer = we pray in faith; Tithing envelope = we pay tithing in faith; Picture of Prs. Hinckley = we have faith in him as the prophet as of to day).
  4. SING: "Keep the Commandments" (CS, 146)
  5. Why do we not wear a cross? (we believe in the resurrected Christ.)
  6. Tell a story about Prs. Hinckley
  7. SING: "The Sixth Article of Faith" (CS, 126)
  8. Which bird symbolize the Holy Ghost?
  9. Brainstorm: How many prophets can you name? (make a list)
  10. SING: "Latter-day Prophets" (CS, 134)
  11. Tell a story about Prs. Hinckley
  12. Let the children make a crossword Puzzle about Prs. Hinckley.
