I made a jeopardy game board from a poster.
I cut 20 half moon shapes spaced 5 across and 4 down. These hold 3 X 5
index cards. I laminated the
posterboard before cutting these shapes.
I made up 20 'situation' cards
having to do with being a good example.
Instead of forming their answer beginning
with What is..........? I had them start with What I would do.
Here are a few of the situations I posed:
-
It's the Saturday of General Conference. Your
friend calls you to go to the park at the same time as one of the sessions
wil be on. What do you do?
-
You have a dad who swears all the time. He
tells YOU not to. You have friends at school who swear and they seem really
cool. You could swear at school and your dad wouldn't know about it. What
do you do?
-
It's Sunday and you are making cookies. You
need one more egg. What do you do?
-
Non members move in next door to you. What
do you do?
-
You are at a friends house. You decide to
watch a video. They have several movies that your family doesn't approve
of. Your friend wants to watch one of them. What do you do?
-
Your scout leader plans a special meeting
and asks ahead if you will be
-
there so he can have the right amount of supplies
for you. On the day of the meeting you get free basketball tickets from
some friends. It's your favorite team. What do you do?
-
You and your friends are walking to achievement
days. A girl rides up on her bike and asks you where you are going? She
hasn't been very nice to you in the past. What do you do?
-
Some one asks you:"Do you want to know hwat
I heard about so-and-so'? What do you do?
-
A new person moves into your ward and is in
your class. Your teacher asks you to sit by them. You don't really want
to. What do you do?
-
A friend has invited you to see a new movie
that you are dying to see. Your mom says you can go if your homework is
done. It's time to leave and you aren't done, but your mom doesn't know
that. What do you do?
-
Someone asks you what your Church believes.
What do you do?
I threw in a couple of ones that had them
repeat an Article of Faith because that's a great way to be a good example.
The nice thing is that you can use the
jeopardy board again and again. My kids had fun with it. Hope this helps
someone.
