I did a fun sharing time today. I enlarged a picture out of the children's friend of President Hinckley, colored and laminated it.
Than out of material (glued onto cardstock) I made ties. We played pin the tie on the Prophet. I put facts about President Hickey's life on the back of the ties. When the children came up to select the color of tie they wanted, we took a minute and talked about that fact of his life.
It was a combined singing sharing time. We switched the words to "singing a song is fun to do etc. instead we sang, Following the prophet is fun to do etc. and then sang it again saying - Following the Prophet is easy to do, easy to do easy to do, Following the Prophet is easy to do, to do, to do, to do!
When I talked about his mission we sang
"Called to Serve" in Sr. Primary and "I hope they call me on a mission"
in Jr.
Than when we talked about him on the farm
and pruning trees, planing a garden, we sang the song "Faith".
I also had a man in the ward come and sing
the hymn "Praise to the man". It was awesome! The kids really enjoyed it.
