Great places to search for inf. about our prophet

"Some Lessons I Learned as a Boy," Ensign, May 1993, p.52
(an address Pres. Hinckley gave at a Priesthood session before he was prophet. Contains great examples of his experiences as a child/youth, including the "morals" of the stories!)

"Heroes and Heroines: President Gordon B. Hinckley," Friend, Oct.1995, p.34
(contains basic inf. about the prophet's childhood, etc. Also includes a crossword puzzle.)

"Look, Feel, and Help," (Sharing Time) Friend, July 1996, p. 44
(contains one example of something the prophet did as a youth)

"My Grandfather the Prophet," New Era, April 1997, p. 28
(through interviews w/ the prophet's grandchildren, it provides a very personable look at Pres. Hinckley.)

"Young Gordon B. Hinckley-- Preparing"...

There is a great story and activity (with the lips and things to glue inside)... Here is the link for the story:

"http://library.lds.org/library/lpext.dll/YrMagazines/Friend%202001/friend%20march%202001.htm/young%20gordon%20b.%20hinckley%20preparing.htm?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0"

For the second week in March I'm going to use the article from the New Era Oct. 1998 called "Lessons I learned as a Boy". I will have items in a bag and let the kids pick something out, then I will tell a story about Pres. Hinckley growing up that has something to do with that item. I will also use a few stories from his Biography, that weren't in the article. (And a few video clips)
