workshop March 2003

I just returned home from attending the workshops. It was wonderful.
Some of the things mentioned for music:
Teaching a new song:
When singing if it says stand up in part of a phrase, then stand up.
Visual aids and activities are great.
Songs help in many ways. They can bring comfort, peace and courage to
choose the right.
During prelude, sing some reverence songs until ready to start.
Songs need to be positive. Sing songs from past 4 years of presentations, if possible.
Let children choose their favorite songs often.
They sang quite of few songs, explained about using hand signals, Tempo and ostinato and how to relate it to the different songs as your present them.
